Last Thursday saw this year’s CEF Excellent Awards at the Crowne Plaza here in Belfast and what a night it was!
We were especially honoured that we were invited to present the award for Social Value Project of the Year and our CEO Lynn was able to award it to Woodvale Construction, for their work on Belfast City Cemetery's Visitor’s Centre.
A massive congratulation to all those nominated and the successful winners, which included a number of other #NotJustForBoys Champions. We are delighted for Gilbert-Ash, Henry Brothers, Heron Brothers, Woodvale Construction & Mascot Construction for their success on the night.
A massive congrats to our Champions below!

Another winner on the night was Shannon Doherty with Mascott Construction, who won Apprentice of the Year Award. Shannon is a current Level 3 Apprentice in Wood Occupations at Belfast Met and also works for Mascott Construction.
Shannon said that starting out was difficult when trying to get an apprenticeship and it was only when she joined WOMEN'STEC that she was able to get an apprenticeship with Mascott in 2021. “I was proud to be asked to become an ambassador for WOMEN'STEC in Belfast and have been featured on Belfast Live during the promotion of their #Notjustforboys initiative.”
We are so proud of you Shannon, a massive congratulations from the whole team at WOMEN’STEC on this award and thanks to everyone at CEF for an amazing night!
