Community Rallies Round for Mental Health

On Monday 24th February, organisations, and members of the community came together at WOMEN’STEC‘s Mind Your Head event to discuss the current mental health crisis and explore ways to get support for a range of mental health concerns.

Representatives from Aware NI, We Are Pangs, TAMHI, Lifeline, and many others met with members of the community and offered signposting and support on issues such as depression, anxiety in children, physical wellbeing and where to find community support.

There were also two very insightful panel discussions where we examined the current state of mental health services in Northern Ireland, asked what to do when someone is in crisis and how to protect mental health at home and work.

There was a real sense of community spirit in the room and it was fantastic to see the wide range of organisations working at a grassroots level to give support to people in our community, particularly when our health services are struggling and waiting lists to see professionals are long.
